AI-Based Seabed Classification: Geology, Biota, and Man-made objects
Robotic-based seabed surveys now yield large volumes of sidescan data that are time consuming to process. As a result, detection of manmade objects is very difficult due to naturally occurring clutter (biological and geological). Develop and apply AI-based techniques to process sidescan data in a high clutter environment using data sets from global expeditions collected in support of finding archeological sites associated with WWII.
